[attr="class","official-content"]
Bianca's love for animals had started when she was young... probably around the age of five when she walked with her father past a mall pet store and insisted on going inside. Though she had insisted on a puppy, or a kitten at least, her father had bought her a hamster, which she promptly named Chicken, by the way, and told her that if she took good care of Chicken for a year, they would discuss getting a bigger pet. Bianca poured every once of love and work she could muster up into taking care of that hamster, and even though not a full year had passed, her parents rewarded her with a Jack Russell Terrier pup on her next birthday.
[break][break]
Throughout childhood and her early teen years, Bianca became a bit of a pet collector. At one point, she had four cats, two dogs, three rabbits, a turtle, two salamanders and a pair of angelfish. She was a pretty shy and quiet girl... the sort of girl one would consider a pushover probably. She pretty much just let people say and do whatever they wanted to her, even when it wasn't so nice... or she'd end up being somebody's lackey because she was so easily walked all over. Bianca would come home and spend time with her pets, who always seemed to love her unconditionally and didn't treat her like a doormat. As she reached her older teens and her twenties, her social skills with actual people improved, but she never felt a connection with another person like she did with the animals.
[break][break]
By the time she graduated high school, she decided that she wanted to obtain her veterinary license. She obtained her undergraduate degree in veterinary and biomedical sciences and now attends veterinary school while volunteering at the Central City Animal Shelter on the evenings and weekends. In fact, it was during one of her late nights at the shelter when the particle accelerator explosion took place.
[break][break]
Bianca's supervisor, Carl, was not a friendly man whatsoever. He was arrogant, impatient, and crude. If he wasn't insulting Bianca or shouting at her, he was making inappropriate comments or gestures. He disgusted her, and definitely didn't make it easy, but she had her suspicions that he wasn't treating the animals well either and she couldn't bear the thought of leaving them solely in his care. She worked hard to take care of every single one of them, even if it meant staying well past the end of her shift most nights. On this particular night, however, Carl had long sense gone home and Bianca had taken a few of the dogs out into the yard to play a little game of fetch when the explosion happened and that big wave of white light hit her and she fell over unconscious.
[break][break]
As she started to come to, her eyes remained closed as her other senses awakened, her mind waking up slowly as she became more aware of what she could hear around her. But instead of hearing what she expected... barking, maybe whining or whimpering or howling... she heard voices. Human voices or, at least, they sounded human. Bianca opened her eyes slowly only to be greeted with panting and massive warm tongues licking her face, accompanied by gleeful sentiments like 'She's okay!' and 'Thank goodness!' Confused, she looked around to see who else was there, but when she realized that there were no other humans present, she soon realized that she was able to communicate with the animals just as easily as she could communicate with people... and they loved her just as much as she loved them.
[break][break]
Bianca stayed at the shelter that entire night, just talking to the animals there. They confirmed to her that Carl was indeed neglectful and borderline abusive, and together they executed a plan to scare him off when he came in for his shift the next morning (something having to do with a couple of 'accidentally' unlocked cages. Oops!) With Carl out of the picture, Bianca was promoted to his position.
[break][break]
When the Flash broke out into the public eye, Bianca paid attention. She would watch news stories and read in the paper about the things he was doing to save the people of Central City, and that curiosity extended to their neighboring Starling City and the news of the vigilantes there. Bianca started to wonder if she could do something similar. Sure, there was nothing physical about her newly acquired abilities, but surely she could do something to make a difference. She started taking classes in self defense and mixed martial arts in what little spare time she had and now, with the help of her animal friends and a new sense of confidence, pride and dedication, she intends to do her part in keeping her city safe.

Watching Hope sleep had easily become Hayley's favorite past time in the last week or so since she had been hiding out with Cami. Actually, watching Hope do anything had become favorite moments of hers. She found it difficult to tear her eyes away from her little girl under any circumstance, but there was just something magical about seeing her precious baby at complete peace.
[break][break]
While she appreciated the efforts that Cami was making in order to help her feel comfortable and at home, hiding out like this was far different than what Hayley was accustomed to. She ached to be out and about.. to be among her people, her friends... her city. She was missing the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter and the swampy humidity of the bayou. She missed being in the center of things and knowing what was going on. She missed her pack. She missed Elijah. Hell, she even missed Klaus.
[break][break]
The aroma of homemade cooking brought her out of her thoughts even before Cami called her down for dinner. While she found it difficult to leave Hope for even a second, her rumbling stomach reminded her that she was famished, and that she needed to eat and keep up her strength. She knew that they were hidden from Dahlia and whomever else posed a threat to her daughter, but she still didn't feel safe, and she knew that she probably never would. Hayley leaned over the side of the crib to kiss her sweet little girl's cheek and then pulled up on the bars to lock the side of the crib into place. She left the room, closing the door quietly, and headed downstairs to the kitchen.
[break][break]
She passed Cami on her way into the kitchen and grabbed a plate, loading it up with plenty of pasta, sauce and garlic bread. Her mouth was already watering. She hadn't realized just how hungry she actually was. She grabbed a fork from the drawer and then went to lean against the door frame leading from the kitchen to the living room, twirling her fork into her spaghetti as she watched Cami speak to someone on the phone briefly before hanging up.
[break][break]
[break][break]
She stepped back out of the way as Cami returned to the kitchen. Hayley moved to sit down on one of the stools at the island counter and set her plate down. "What's going on?"
